Excellent, and deserving of a wide audience and a much-needed conversation on this much-misunderstood subject. There are a lot of issues to dissect, from Parsons himself to Hubbard, Cameron, the Collins Elite, STAC5, Thelema, the O.T.O., the idea of the homonculus, occult ritual in general, etc. A lot of nonsense has been written and promulgated on Parsons, and this should serve as a sensible, clear introduction to the reality behind the hysteria.

I loved the series. Heavily Hollywoodised, but still the best representation of Thelema on a major production we have so far. Greg Wise, who plays "The Magus" aka Wilfred T. Smith, visited my OTO lodge here in London when I was still a member and genuinely asked questions about Thelema and the Gnostic Mass.
always been fascinated...born year JP died; my dad worked for Aerojet in 50s; I pursued career in aerospace industry... I see JP as rebellious mystical Goldilocks fox of missile fuel and magic. In a letter he wrote to Cameron JP said 'simplicity is key to victory in ideas war...magic is missing simplicity.' I think he tried to both simplify magic and find significant shortcuts. There are many paths/languages to magical mastery besides western religiously imbued (E religion okay), painfully mind numbing rituals. There are more intuitively advanced ways. I suspect JP's radical mind found one...and was murdered/silenced. Here's to risk takers, star shakers, & oath breakers!
